Almonds are one snack that promote healthy diet nutrition, and are packed with fiber and monounsaturated fat, both of which lower cholesterol. According to the Food and Drug Administration, eating 1.5 ounces of most nuts, including almonds, as part of your healthy diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart diseases. And even though almonds are relatively high in calories and fat, studies show that eating almonds can actually help with losing weight as their fiber and protein provide the feeling of being full, hence preventing overeating.
